Logo for His Light His Light Assembly of God Church is entering the most exciting season of its 26 year history. After 10 years of diligently pursuing the vision God has given us to build our church home, we are poised to break ground and build that home. Our new facility will greatly improve accommodations for our entire congregation; provide for our continuing growth; expand our opportunity for evangelism and service to our community, and secure a home for generations to come. We hope you are inspired to join us in building forward. You are an important part of our great move. God is Breaking fertile Ground to plant your financial seed. Watch Him pour out the blessings He has promised you for your faithfulness! We thank you for prayerfully committing your financial support to this calling..
His Light started with a small Bible study in a home. When we leased our first modular building on Menifee Road, 19 people attended the first service held on February 5, 1989.

We outgrew the Menifee Road modulars when attendance reached 150, and the Sun City United Church of Christ (UCC) became our new home on May 2, 1993. Although His Light was a young church, we helped birth a new church in Mexico that same year. By 1996, the ministry to homeless and addicted men that we now call “The Hacienda” needed its own home, and we established the Hacienda Christian Life Campus in Perris. We also opened our first thrift store to serve the community and provide work and income to support the men at The Hacienda. That same year, we expanded to two Sunday morning services.

With the new decade came new beginnings of our own. In 2002, we purchased 9.5 acres at the corner of Holland Road and Murietta for $275,000, and the journey to building our own church home began. By November, 2005 the property was paid in full, two years ahead of schedule. In 2006, we petitioned the Assemblies of God to become a sovereign church and our request was granted.

We continued at the UCC location until August, 2012. Again, the continuing growth in our congregation and children’s department dictated the need for a larger facility. After extensive remodeling, we moved to our current location on Bradley Road that we refer to as “His Light Christian Center”. Pastor Garland B. Gauthier, Jr. has served as our senior pastor since our inception. In 2012, he was elected to the position of Presbyter by popular vote of the 32 Assembly of God churches in Riverside County, to preside over those same churches (while continuing to serve as our pastor.) God’s grace and favor has followed us through the years, as we have grown not only in our numbers, but also in our many community service outreach ministries. Today, He leads, inspires and provides for us to enter into all that He has planned for the body of believers He has brought together at His Light.
His light is not only the name of our church, it also declares our mission. In the name of Christ, our Food Banks feed multiple thousands of individuals and families in need from our surrounding communities. Four Thrift Stores provide quality merchandise at affordable prices and work with other non-profit organizations to supply human needs in times of emergency. Toy Team provides gifts for impoverished children in our local communities during the Christmas season. The Hacienda Christian Life Campus gives men the tools to abandon violence and self-destruction and become productive members of family and society with no charge whatsoever to participate in the one-year, live-in program. The His Light bus ministry reaches many at-risk children. Every Sunday morning (for Sunday school), Tuesday evenings (for Youth Ministry) and Wednesday evenings (for Royal Rangers and MPact Ministries), girls and boys hop on board to learn about positive choices and be discipled in Christ.

Our current Sunday school buildings burst at the seams every week. Our youth has expanded beyond their allotted space, and they must share that space with other ministries. We look forward to our new facility that will provide the room and opportunity to worship, fellowship, study, serve and grow in unity and grace.
Mission Statement:
Touch a life, a city, a generation.

Vision Statement:
To provide for the continuing growth of our congregation; expand opportunities for evangelism and service to our community, and secure a home for the generations to come.

We are growing consistently in the number of people attending and also in the number and variety of ministries. To rise to these challenges, we are intentionally entering into one of the most significant periods in the history of our church. Our future is bright at His Light.
